Children and teenage Empowerment Sessions

Over the years as a mother and therapist, I have found that I have needed to find different solutions to assist myself and my family around me as problems were encountered. Sometimes I went to other therapists thinking they could help me solve the problems, but often I found that they were not able to understand the difficult dynamics I was encountering (because they had not been through it themselves), and not able to offer any solution.

I was under severe stress at times for various reasons with my own health and wellbeing and managing the family on my own.

I discovered meditation and a holistic way of living that was very new to me in that I was not brought up in this way. It went against everything I was taught in school and home growing up. In truth it is the way most people lived before the most recent times.

By doing a lot of inner work and healing myself I discovered that the family around me started shifting too, not as much as I had, but relative to me, they were shifting a lot especially considering they were not doing what I was doing.

In recent years and especially with the changes that are happening worldwide, I am realising that this work is ready to be shared with others to benefit them too and make life easier and more fulfilling. Life is not meant to be a struggle after all. A lot of the struggles I faced for many years do not need to be experienced and in fact in this Information Age, no one needs to go through this as everything can be accessed so easily with very little effort. In this last year, the zoom sessions that everyone is doing now make it so easy to learn so many things online!

The sessions I started teaching were from HeartMath Institute, and about getting the brain and the heart to communicate better and to use simple accessible tools to deal with challenges we face everyday. They were successful, however they were very structured and had a set format. This did not allow me to change things around enough and I did not think they were meeting the complete needs of the people I was working with or touching them in the right way.

Now the sessions have evolved to a more intuitive heart based approach which is much more experiential, and is using the tools that really helped me. The experience gives the results and the change within, and personally in my own life this has made all the difference, compared to a theoretical course.

The course is available to learn online through Zoom and in person. Both have their advantages and disadvantages depending on individual needs.

The format I tend to follow is working with breath work to help calm, cleanse and focus the body and mind. A guided journey or meditation to access the inner consciousness and latent abilities within the individual. Creative time and discussion to process whatever has been experienced and create something tangible to assist this. We set simple goals and went through the process of visualising them. Everyone that set a goal and kept the visualisation going reported that they achieved this goal. Some yoga and yogic concepts were included according to the interest of the groups, and journeys that they found interesting and fun.

Ultimately if you are here reading this, you may be a parent simply wanting to see more harmony and balance in your children’s lives, and to see them have the freedom to thrive.

I am also putting together an online course to assist guardians of children to work to improve the children’s lives and empower them using some simple yet powerful techniques.
